Eucharistic Adoration
It was in the plan of God that Jesus in the Eucharist should be known, loved, and adored by all, always and everywhere, through the instrumentality of Ven. Mar Thomas Kurialacherry, whose deep devotion to the Holy Eucharist and committed efforts led to the founding and flourishing of SABS congregation.
Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament being our charism and the power that sustains our spiritual life, we strive to practise and promote this devotion among ourselves and the people around us. Responding to the request of Bishops from various parts of the globe, we have perpetual adoration centres in 114 Dioceses, by which we hope to nurture a spirituality centered around the Eucharist. Intercessory prayers, along with praise and worship, are conducted in these houses in reparation for the sins of the whole world, invoking God’s abundant blessings on all of us. These prayer centres are a direct means to spread Eucharistic devotion and to draw human hearts to the source of real joy and strength.
Eucharistic Apostolate
In our Province, we have perpetual adoration chapels, where public exposition is conducted every day for special intentions, and these are made lively by the participation of the people of the parish and those who come to pray for their personal intentions. Besides, we have adopted various means to share the Eucharistic spirituality with the people around us, forming them into different age groups and encouraging them to integrate prayer life with their daily concerns. Some of the means we have successfully implemented in this regard are the following:
- Eucharistic Centres, attached to our homes and institutions, serve as a platform to draw everyone to Eucharistic Jesus by conducting classes and seminars about Eucharistic spirituality, by encouraging them to participate in the exposition in chapels and the parish church and also by organizing Eucharistic conventions, Eucharistic evenings, Eucharistic processions, etc…
- Moreover, Eucharistic libraries functioning in all Eucharistic centres provide ample opportunities to the young and old alike to deepen their knowledge of Eucharistic spirituality.
- Various age groups like Little Angels, Eucharistic League, Eucharistic Youth Wing, and the fellowship of lay people called SABS Associates are other effective means to share Eucharistic spirituality.
