Education Apostolate

Education Apostolate

“Renew everything in Christ” was the motto of our founder, which inspired him to give due importance to the field of education, aiming at the ultimate growth of individuals and society at large. Hence, right from the beginning, the SABS congregation took it as a great mission to establish schools wherever convents were opened. This helped them to reach out to the families as well, thus effectively promoting the wholesome development of all involved in the process of imparting knowledge. And we consider it a very effective medium for sharing our Eucharistic spirituality with the students as well as their parents. It is our vision and hope that by maintaining an ambience conducive to spiritual and moral growth, along with academic excellence in our institutions, we can form our students as mature persons.

At present, a large number of our sisters are engaged in the educational apostolate, right from kindergarten to the university level. We work in schools and colleges owned and managed by the Diocese of Palai and also run C.B.S.E. unaided English medium schools in the Diocese of Palai, Mandya, and Bhadravati (in Karnataka). Hostels and boarding houses also are managed by our sisters, providing sufficient facilities for those who wish to pursue higher education.

Our schools and colleges are always particular about maintaining a catholic atmosphere and are given opportunities for attending mass and receiving the sacraments. Rosary devotion is regularly conducted in the month of October, instilling in our students a special devotion to Blessed Mother Mary. Holy Mass and special prayer services are conducted in all our schools at the beginning of the academic year, and the feast days of patron saints are celebrated with the active participation of the students. Annual retreats are regularly conducted in our schools and colleges. Organizations like Christeen and Jesus Youth help them to live their faith life on a more personal level. The following are the private schools under the management of the province:

  1. Shantal Jyothi Public School, Muttom (C.B.S.E.)
  2. Jyothi Public School, Paika (C.B.S.E.)
