St Thomas Nursery School had its humble beginnings 26 years ago and was established by the SABS congregation in 1996 at Yarandahalli, Anekal Taluk, Bengaluru. The main purpose of starting this school is to uplift and empower the downtrodden and destitute people of this area. To enhance skill-based education, classes of LKG and UKG were started using Kannada as a teaching medium in 2005 with a total strength of 30 students.

With the approval of Mother Provincial -Mother Lucius, we started classes from 1 to 4 commenced on 3rd June 2005 under the supervision of Principal Sr. Mercy Kuzhykombu SABS and Vice Principal Sr. Josephine D’souza SABS. They rendered their selfless service until 2010. In 2011, classes 5 and 6 were included raising the total strength to 310. Because of the quality of education, the Education Department of Karnataka sanctioned the approval to start higher classes in 2012. To accommodate Pre-Nursery and higher classes, a foundation Stone was laid by Rev. Mother Provincial.

The first batch of SSLC was commemorated in 2013 having Kannada as the first language under the guidance of Principal Sr. Majella Kureethadam SABS. Students’ critical thinking has been enhanced by including technology-based classes using TEACH NEXT software since 2013 with the approval of Principal Sr. Fathima Mendoza SABS. The strength of the school increased from 440 to 910 because of her dedication, hard work and perseverance to ensure the growth and development of the school.

In 2018, Principal Sr.Rose Maria Thekkethottiyil SABS took over the post and under the supervision and guidance of the School Manager Sr.Tessy Kappalumackal SABS, she sought permission from the Education Department of Karnataka to change the Kannada medium (class 1 to 4) to English medium and succeeded in availing the approval. Many educational measures have been implemented to improve the quality of education. A great initiative was taken to conduct online classes using various educational tools, techniques and strategies due to covid situation and lockdown for two years. (2020-2022).The school was renovated with various amenities and Ebix smart class was included in the technology-based education.

Initially the school started with a single rented room with a few students near the Grama Panchayat office Konandur with the permission of Karnataka state government and support extended by Karnataka education board, then later in the year 2000 the school started functioning with it’s own building with atmost care to provide an exemplary education to the children in and around the vicinity of Konandur with the aim of providing basic education to all rural students. At present the school has grown specious and commodious by all means to spread it’s service to a very good number of children. It provides an ambience conducive to learning and other aspirations of the learners.
The School is easily accessible from Thirthahalli, Ripponpete and other nearby places. The school consists of grade LKG to X. It follows CBSE text book pattern for classes LKG to class V. From class VI to X Karnataka State Board text book syllabi as well.

As a co-educational institution, the School promotes a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities, making learning a pleasant and promising experience. Here the students imbibe spiritual virtues and moral values which lead them to a brighter vision and higher mission. MARY MATHA SCHOOL AND PU COLLEGE RIPPONPET

Mary Matha Highschool was established by SABS congregation in 1999 at Ripponpet , shimoga Dt, Karnataka. It is for the purpose of upliftment of poor and backward people of this village. At first we started Kannada medium school. School building construction was not completed in 1999.So we started the classes in good shepherd school and later shifted to the Mary Matha School. Sr. FATHIMA applied to the government for the permission to start high school. Sr.Mary Manthuruth and Sr. Leema Rose were rendered their service for the development of the school. All other teachers were locals. In 2002 first batch wrote the SSLC examination. English medium classes were started in 2002.

In 2005 we started PU College. It is a need and request of the people of this area. We started the building construction in the year 2004 .First we started PCMB combination. Later on appointment of the teachers and payment of the salary become difficult and students number was very less. Because of all these reason we cancelled the science combination.In 2009 we started commerce section in our college. Now we have only commerce combination.

Infant Jesus English Medium School was established in 1996 by the Sisters of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Christu Raja Province, Pala. The seed that was planted as a Nursery School in 1994 at the Devamatha Hills has today grown into a big tree bearing many productive fruits every year. Under the initiative and guidance of our manager Mother Joyce Maria, the foundation stone for the present School building was laid on 10^th August 1995 and it started to function on 3^rd June 1996-1997. Today the school has two magnificent Blocks of two storey buildings with well furnished class rooms to accommodate our students. The school is affiliated to Kerala Board of Education and follows the SCERT Syllabus

As a catholic institution its educational policy is imbued with the vision and mission of Jesus. We are with the motto “Love and Serve” and we inspire the students the same. It is extremely noteworthy that the institution considered it to be its duty to nurture its students as sensitive people with strong values who will contribute their individual achievements to strengthen the fabrics of the society. Our first SSLC batch was in the scholastic year 2005-06. And we have moulded 17 SSLC Batches with 100% and splendid results. We are very proud to announce that our school stands the prime position in our educational District. The academic year consists of three term evaluation mid-term evaluation and monthly tests. Parents are invited to school to assess the performance of their ward. We provide moral and religious instructions too. We have well set computer lab, Digital classrooms, Science Lab and Library etc.

Sports and Games

Our endeavor has always been all round development of character, personality and various skills of our students. Hence we give prominent importance to sports and games. We have our own basketball & football teams, both for boys and girls

Arts and extracurricular Activities

Students are given maximum opportunities to develop their talents through various activities such as school kalotsave, subject Fairs. Also they have the facilities to join guiding, Red Cross, band, dance, music, karate, yoga, swimming etc. And we are about to begin scout, NCC, CUBS, BUL-BUL etc. House wise activities and competition are conducted. Day celebrations are done with its full spirit. To teach our students the value of hard work, self –reliance, discipline and social commitment various measures are adopted like flash mob, project works etc. various type f gardening such as vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbal gardens etc to set connected with mother nature. Hence IJEMHS continues its glorious journey in the field of education.
